Sinhala & Hindu New Year 2025
The Trading Root family came together in true Sri Lankan style to celebrate the Sinhala and Hindu New Year 2025,a day filled with colour, tradition, and cheerful competition! From the moment the rhythm of the rabana echoed and the aroma of kavum and kokis filled the air, it was clear this was more than just an event. It was a heartwarming gathering of colleagues turned family.
Avurudu Kreeda: Let the Fun Begin!
We didn’t hold back! The day was packed with classic Avurudu Kreeda that reminded us of our school days and village festivals:
- Kana Mutti Bindeema turned into a crowd favourite
- Handa Uda Dehigediya Thabagena Yama had everyone on their toes
- And of course, the much-loved Avurudu Kumari & Kumaraya competition brought out hidden talents and lots of charm!
Everyone, from management to new recruits, took part ,cheering, clapping, and enjoying every moment together.
Sweet Treats and Even Sweeter Memories
The table overflowed with Sri Lankan New Year delicacies — kiribath, kavum, kokis, mung kavum, aluwa, and more. Sharing food and stories over a traditional meal made the celebration feel just like home. More than just a party, this Avurudu celebration was about unity, friendship, and appreciating the people we work with every day. It was a chance to pause, laugh, and step into the new year with renewed energy and stronger bonds.
